KENDAL TANK TERMINAL
Strategic Inland Fuel Storage Facility
KENDAL TANK TERMINAL
To assist with disruptive and inconsistent supply, SFT Energy has commissioned a strategic inland bulk storage facility with a potential total volume of 100 million litres. This terminal will be a multi-user facility which will offer route to market importers and refiners alike. The Transnet fuel pipeline will enable to receive product from Sasol Secunda; Natref and from the Port of Durban.
Kendal Tank Terminal, based in Mpumalanga, is in close proximity to Limpopo and Gauteng. These three provinces account for approx. 60% of South Africa’s consumption. KTT will also have a SARS bonded tank to facilitate the export of fuel into neighbouring countries.
Construction of Phase 1 has begun with an initial capacity of 10 million litres and expected completion by November 2024. Phase 2 will increase storage by 20 million litres. Further development will be scheduled as required.
